Technical Project Manager

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? In addition to my computer science studies, I worked freelance as a web developer. After that I got into a digital agency mostly dedicated to the gaming industry. Out of that with two of my colleagues we founded our own company with a wider range of software services and had some exciting projects. Sadly I had to leave the company for reasons of economic disagreements but we're still friends though. Freelancing again I had come to the point where I don't want to work alone as an one-man-army anymore. So I'm looking forward to work on awesome projects with a skilled team and in a structured environment.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
So far I have gained a lot of experience in various areas from software architecture to project and account management and sometimes got my hands on design and UX. The small size of teams most of the time had me to fill multiple positions at once. I bring the typical dev-stack as I always did a lot of development by myself but I also like to look over the edge of the plate and see the whole thing. My greatest strength would be my ability to understand what people want and what they really need and bring those together, with the tech in mind but not necessary on the table. How do I want to develop? Well, there is definitely a lot to learn in all of these areas and as knowledge is power I'm trying to get it at least over 9000.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Doing the same thing over and over is definitely going to bore me and as long as I'm not limited in time or budget, I'd rather spend 5 hours to automate a job that I could do in 1 hour by hand. It should be either an exciting problem or at least a creative solution to a trivial one. For a really strong adrenaline rush I recommend having someone kill the live DB on a midnight release without having a proper backup.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
I'm thinking about buying a used caravan and start road tripping Europe with my family this year. Going wherever you want, whenever you want to is something I'd enjoy and you have the chance to see more places than being stuck at one hotel for two weeks straight. Otherwise it's going to be a custom made bass guitar. We'll see.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
I would say you need two things: Gaffa tape and a smartphone. If you cant fix it with Gaffa its probably a digital problem, so you search the web for solutions. Amazon Alexa and the new smart-home technology are very interesting at the moment and I'd love to use it more but as my house is like 100 years old there is not as much capability as I'd desire..

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Like most others I'd say its Facebook but also Stackoverflow. And o/c google. I do not have any fancy, inspiring websites/persons that I follow. If I'm interested in something I just search for it and try to get a wide spectrum of knowledge and opinions on the topic. In the real world I usually just hang out with my friends and the band-

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
This section could get really long one but to keep it short: I like Rock music, mostly classic and post Rock. Last concert I attended was A Perfect Circle and I would recommend listening to the new Album Eat The Elefant. Also looking forward to the shows of Tool this year, they better have the new album coming. Caution, self-advertisement: If you want to checkout my own band PAVALLION just visit pavallion.de or stream it on all major services. Book-wise I'm into old school 1950s science fiction right now, pretty weird.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I’m from Bamberg, a lovely little town in Franconia and after making a stop in New York City for eight years, I am now happy to have made Berlin my home!

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I bring an open mind and the excitement for learning a lot of new skills. I have done everything from setting up a tripod at a TV shoot to managing clients, and now I am excited to bring it all together!

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
I am bored by people who feel entitled and are closed-minded. Things that ramp my adrenaline are being where the action is-whether it be events, projects or cities! I also love traveling and discovering new places.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Perfecting my Spanish skills is something that I am currently very passionate about. Being fully immersed into the Spanish culture during the last two months really moved me and made me happy:)

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
For me my Smartphone is the only gadget I really need. In terms of apps, I would say Google and Spotify.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
I love reading refinery29.com and also fastcompany.com.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
I just started reading Thinking Fast and Slow (a book about how people make decisions), and I love the book The Secret Life of Bees.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
A place called Buxtehude (one of the 200 German cities that offer a cute old town as their unique specialty). Soon to be “Berliner” as I’m heading towards the ten year mark of calling Berlin my home. Spent the last couple of years in Content Management at Elbkind Reply, now headed towards exciting projects with you.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? A foresighted workflow, a sense for good content, tech affinity and lots of experience in automotive topics. By doing things I’ve never done before. I like the learning by doing approach supported by the exchange with experts in the respective fields.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Loading screens or any badly designed tech that is a time-waster.
Innovations that improve my everyday life so I can focus on the important things

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? Oddly specific maybe: Sichuan Chinese Cuisine. Changed my perception of how intense food can taste. Will hopefully become a master chef soon. Cooking and/or sharing great food with friends is something I don’t want to miss.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? My iPhone.
Wolt.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? YouTube. It’s the perfect mix of entertainment, education and absolute nonsense.
Offline: Friends, family and a Shiba Inu called Kitsu (I’m a dog uncle).

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss? I’m one of (probably) too many DJs in Berlin and therefore quite influenced by dance oriented music: Disco, House, Techno, Trance,... you name it.
Also very passionate about Ambient music so here is an all time classic: https://aphextwin.bandcamp.com/album/selected-ambient-works-volume-ii

Head of Film

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I'm originally from the Ruhr area and – like most people from there – I consider myself quite well grounded.
At some point I was drawn out into the world – first to New Jersey for my last year in high school, moved on to beautiful Oregon for one semester at the university and finished my studies in Düsseldorf.
After starting my professional career in Düsseldorf I moved on to Barcelona, and for the past 16 years I have remained in Berlin.
Now that I'm finally able to work for Parasol Island, I'm happy to be back in Düsseldorf more often. To be honest, I sometimes miss the humour of the Rhinelanders in Berlin.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
The fact that I've worked in agencies as well as in film productions means that I'm quite good at mediating between all the different departments which work together on a production.
Diplomacy is one of my assets – along with my long professional experience.
In our fast-moving industry, today's knowledge can be outdated tomorrow already. I like to keep my finger on the pulse of current affairs and technological development – which is exactly what I find so exciting about Parasol Island.
People at PSL are already thinking and working in a fully digital way and I want to learn from them.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
I'm bored to death by the widespread motto: "We've always done it this way". Whereas I'm inspired by international pioneers.
Last month I was lucky again to meet some international people at the Ciclope Festival and exchange ideas. What are digital natives in Brazil launching or what IT pioneers from China are already incorporating into mobile apps – these are inspiring topics for me.
In comparison, a lot of what we in Germany see as the "hottest shit" is pretty much old-school in comparison.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
The most important "thing" for me is education; to evolve every day.
I'm currently working on my Spanish skills. This language is really a good example to the "many exceptions to the rule" – that's what makes it so much harder to master and is my daily challenge. Learning keeps the mind active. Which is a good thing.

What makes me really happy is when I can directly apply what I have just learned. My goal: Agree with a Spanish director on his treatment in Castilian, this way we can we come to a common denominator much faster.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Our Vespa Elettrica is a very important gadget in order to reach far away appointments in Berlin on time and of course in an environmentally friendly fashion. Driving a car in Berlin during rush hour – not a very good idea!
The app I currently use most is Apple Health – it helps me to be fit for those challenging projects. By the way I am still good at maintaining my 10.000 steps per day. Furthermore I like the Balloon, Headspace and Gardena Irrigation app.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Duolingo.com, lingq.com and yr.no/en (much more reliable than Apple's weather spp).
f course I check out the news on spiegel.de the same way as on bild.de to get a broad idea of what's currently happening.
Since I started at PSL I would say Google Mail and My Parasol Island 😂.
I meet my family and friends offline, who else? If I answer my cell phone too often in this "offline environment" I get told off and everyone wants to prescribe to me a digital detox immediately. Not always an easy undertaking combining the analog and digital world.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?
Männer in Kamelhaarmänteln – I like Elke Heidenreich, I wonder why? Is it because she grew up in Essen or her great grasp of the little things in life?
Who Ordered This Truckload of Dung? – helped me in many situations. It's just one of those books which can be read the way you like it: It works superficially and also if you want to go more into depth.
Musically speaking I am very, very old school: For sports I like French lounge music. During the day a nice mix of 1970s, 1980s and 1990s tunes.
I like to listen to most songs from the Great American Songbook or a nice selection of Mexican or Cuban "boleros y musica del ayer" for dinner parties or at the end of a long working day.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I was born in Mönchengladbach, live in Anrath and in my heart I am anchored in Gelsenkirchen.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I would like to let my often existing good mood and calmness shine through and make it easier for my colleagues to work with me by friendly cooperation. I hope that I will learn a lot here on the island and have a great time.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level? Days when I am sick, not allowed to go out and have nothing to do – that bores me the most. My adrenalin rises regularly when I play handball.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? Gathering new experiences through travel, fate or a personal challenge, that is what shapes and moves me the most. Growing and failing in new tasks, all this plays an important role for me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? For me, the exchange of ideas with colleagues, friends or my family is indispensable to reach the ideal solution together.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? Online: Instagram, fashion websites and the Schalke 04 website. Offline: My family and friends.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss? My favourite book is Sebastian Fitzek's Flugangst 7A because it tells you that even in exceptional situations you should believe in yourself and your abilities even if it seems hopeless. My taste in music is characterized by the fact that I listen to everything that puts me in a good mood and makes me happy..

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? Born and bred in Rottweil, studied in the Netherlands, Bali and Thailand, former intern in London and now based in Düsseldorf. Where to next? I like getting surprised!

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Positive mindset, creative strategic thinking, organisational talent combined with an intercultural sensitivity. Working outside my comfort zone helps me develop my talents, either if that is a new city, new people or simply standing on a ladder (yes, I’m afraid of heights).

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
All-inclusive Hotels. What ramps my adrenaline level are new video uploads by Creative Director Sam Kolder and hitting the slopes in Japan.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? An E-Piano! I played the piano as a child and really missed making music during lockdown. I hope by the time I call one my own, it won’t collect dust in the basement. Talking about music; a good opera or theatre play moves me as much as a great techno-festival.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? My headphones and the app Citymapper, a public transit app. Without the app I would’ve been absolutely lost in London. It even lets you choose to avoid dimly lit areas – how great is that?!

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? YouTube. If I’m not online, I love to meet up with old friends from home, talking a bit of Swabian (local accent) and enjoying the Rottweiler Fasnet (Carneval).

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss? Podcasts such as “Gemischtes Hack” or “Fest und Flauschig”. It’s my perfect weekly dose of infotainment and helps me to switch off after a long day. A movie trilogy you don’t want to miss out is “Before Sunrise”, “Before Sunset” and “Before Midnight” directed by Richard Linklater with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. An authentic portrayal of love with each entry relishing the good, the bad, and the ugly that comes with it..

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

After finishing school last year I headed to the TH Köln to study Integrated Design. I started with high expectations since this was my dream coming true. But after a short while I realized, that I was badly missing the connection to the real world like real jobs and real challenges. This is why I applied for a vocational training. Now I’m more then happy that Parasol Island is where I ended up..

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
Bringing all my motivation to the island, I’m eager to learn a lot very quickly. I’m here to improve my skills fast, so that I can be a reliable help for my colleagues.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Things going way to slow are hard to watch for me.
Head jumping into new situations is always challenging me, but doesn’t stop me from doing so.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
I love intelligent and smart designs with a twist like those from Hella Jongerius. I am moved by the strong und beautiful images from Agnes Martin. I love the sensitive book design from Irma Boom.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Sockets are pretty indispensable for me. And Google may not always have a solution, but many answers.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
www.designersandbooks.com, www.apartamentomagazine.com/stories, www.awwwards.com, www.ted.com
Friends and family, of course.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
I’m enjoying the Religion of Love by Agnes Martin and Richard Tuttle the most because its simply stunning. As a nightlife aficionado of Köln I love electronic music and Keith Jarrett's The Köln Concert from 1975.

Digital Strategist
georg.beuer@parasol-island.com

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
Although I spent some time abroad in Italy and South Korea, I was born and raised in Berlin and will probably always come back if life takes me somewhere else. Professionally I started as Social Media Manager in an agency but grew into a digital strategist over the years. Hopefully I will someday end up in a leading position to innovate and make a positive impact on our digital society ... "someday"!

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? A fundamental and detailed understanding of social media and other digital operations paired with conceptual and presentational skills. I hope to develop my insightful entertainment skills and enchanting strategy skills. Or was it the other way around?

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Nothing is more boring than lockdown/social distancing. I long for occasions with as many close friends and/or entertaining new people as possible.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? Any electronic device/app where I can listen to music or educational podcasts. I need INPUT!

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? ? I fall into YouTube rabbit holes way too often. I wish I could say it's all about science and politics but too often I just keep on viewing the same scenes from my favourite films/show over and over and over and over... Friends, family and hopefully cool, new colleagues are my offline heroes.

What films and shows are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
Trending: How to sell drugs online, Ozark, The Expanse, Tenet, The Gentleman, South Park, Fleabag. Classics: Snatch, Scrubs, Futurama, Lucky Number Slevin, Predestination, The Newsroom, Lammbock, The Other Cops.

Senior Animator & 3D Generalist
harry.fast@parasol-island.com
Sprache: German, English

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
Having drawn characters for as long as I can remember I started out in traditional 2D animation and made my way into the 3D world. I can look back at 12 years of experience in this area as a freelancer and I would love to grow that experience even more at Parasol Island.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I do: CharacterDesign, Storyboarding, 2D Animation(TVPaint, but open for new things), 3D Modeling (Zbrush, Maya, MarvelousDesigner), Texturing (Substance Painter), Rigging (Maya, would love to start Houdini), Animation (Maya, , would love to start Houdini), and a little bit of Rendering (Maya).

I would love to add to that everything related to bringing characters to life, like Grooming, MuscleSim, ClothSim, CrowdSim and all sorts of CharacterFX. And I would love to be able to do that in different industry leading software packages like Houdini, Ziva, Blender etc.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Like for everybody else, for me the most boring thing is probably doing the same thing over and over again. Even if it was animation, I couldn't do it for years in a row. The only thing that keeps my mental health stable is probably learning.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
My wife and my motorcycle!

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
I would like to say that there is no such thing, but its likely to be the iPhone with its browser.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? ?
CGChannel.com, Welt.de, Zeit.de, Artstation.com and some others I don't want to tell...

Apparently I am never offline, like most people. But I do meet people. Most of the time these are family, friends and co-workers – but occasionally I also meet strangers that I don't talk to.

What films and shows are you enjoying at the moment? What are the classic you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
I love science fiction and fantasy. It takes you away the best from all the crap that goes on in the world and takes you to fictional crap that doesn't matter. Right now it is Vakuum from Phillip Peterson.
Music is difficult...
Everyone should see (or read): Bloodsport. Karate Tiger 1, ET, Goonies, IT, and that really old movie with that alien that eats everyone.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I was born in Langenfeld, Germany but spend most of my elementary-school time in San Diego, California. After three years, I moved back to Germany. For now, I am happy to live in Monheim and work nearby. I cannot foresay where I will be heading in future, but what I can say for sure is that I want to stay here long.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I would describe myself as creative. I like to play with different types of visualisation and the different media types. Also, it is very interesting to know how people react to these. Therefore I studied media and cognition science in Duisburg which combines all these. After my studies I worked as a Community Manager for the theme park Phantasialand. As soon as I saw the job opening here at Parasol Island I applied for it. I believe this is a great place to learn from very creative people and improve myself by watching them and seeing how professionals work.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Always repeating tasks with no challenge. Working very long on the same thing. Just hanging around and doing nothing. Those are probably the two things that bore me the most. I love (almost) every sport, especially watersports, soccer and basketball. And I love to be a creative or try new things and see how these things develop..

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
To learn more about the digital work for a company, seeing the possibilities there and being part of a great team, that creates great work and media. Personally I want to train more again to become more fit and strong again after my injuries.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
As far as you can still call it a gadget I would say my mobile. It has all the solutions for every situation I need. Do not get me wrong, I also like being offline for some days during holidays but in general and everyday life I really do not want to miss my mobile.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Recently I often checked the news t3n provides to stay up to date. Also I like Pinterest to get ideas for many different things, especially DIY things and presents. Furthermore, I frequently watch basketball on DAZN. Offline I often see my old friends from High School. We managed to stay in contact even though some of us moved further away. Additionally, my girlfriend and I often go to the harbour in Maintal, near Frankfurt for the weekend. My girlfriend grew up in that area and has friends there which camp at the harbour. Also, we can do watersports like wakeboarding or wakesurfing there, as far as our injured knees let us.
Monkeys.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
I always plan to reed books, but in the end I actually don’t. It is something I want to change in the near future. I like different kind of music styles, my favourite are Hip Hop (of the 2000s), alternative, some country, and a music style I like to call surfer music. Classics are of course the works of Eminem and 50 Cent. They were most present in my childhood and no matter if you want to motivate yourself, get ready for a (basketball) game or just party in style – you don’t want to miss these classics. .

Ignorance and arrogance! Slow internet and bad radio reception. Adrenalin ramping in a positive way: Good concerts, animal videos, Capri Sonne and parachute jumping....

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Maybe one day, perhaps, a Leica camera. And, of course, a mini-horse named Li'l Sebastian (Parks and Recreation fans know). Until then my beloved old bike I purchased at the local flee-market.

Google and my gut feeling.

After 17 years I once again excavated Stephen King's It, my read for the coming weeks. The new records from Arcade Fire and Manchester Orchestra. And – for topical reasons – Kettcar's Summer 89 (if they can do something, it’s lyrics).

Was langweilt dich zu Tode und was lässt deinen Adrenalinpegel steigen?

Instagram ist für mich unentbehrlich: „Capture and Share the World's Moment.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? Born in Brandenburg, my heart is much more attached to the beautiful "Schwabenländle" where I studied the last years. Another part belongs to the Rhineland where my whole family is located and where I’ve spent many summers. Since 2021 I am back in Berlin and I think I’ll stay here for now.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? If you believe my university, I'm one of the online media generalists of our time. I'd say I'm somewhere between a passionate list writer and a wannabe editor with a diagnosed social media addiction. Oh, and if it helps, I also remember how to draw blood and theoretically take an appendix.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Doing the same thing every day gets quite boring in the long run.
I find good discussions, on the other hand, very exciting. My mantra: Communication is key.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
I would really like to go on vacation again (without a mask).
Otherwise, I've been trying to find the perfect bike for two years – that would actually move me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? As lame as it sounds, I'd really be lost without my iPhone. But the thing is both a curse and a blessing.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Google, Google, Google – and a whole lot of social media platforms.
Otherwise, however, I prefer to spend my time in "real life" with friends and family at home, in bars, cafes, etc.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?
My heart beats for podcasts – they are on 24/7. Absolute favorites: Herrengedeck (although it has been discontinued in the meantime), Jack&Sam, Drinnies, Hotel Matze.
I also like books by (mostly female) authors with good ideas and stories, e.g. Alte weiße Männer (Sophie Passmann), Starkes weiches Herz (Madeleine Alizadeh), Vom Ende der Einsamkeit (Benedict Wells).
Otherwise, I don't move into an apartment without my Harry Potter books. That would be the classic I wouldn't want to be without.
As for music, during school I spent more time in my music school and band rehearsal rooms than in the regular classroom. So I could talk about my favorites for hours – there's not enough space here.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I come from a small coastal town north of Sydney Australia called Woy Woy. "Woy Woy" comes from language of the Guringgai Aborigines. The expression is said to mean "much water" or "big lagoon". I moved down to Sydney for my studies which lead me to complete my studies in NYC where I lived for two years. After that chapter, I came back to Sydney and realised that I wanted to broaden my professional experience. So with my german passport in hand, I picked Berlin and I've been here for six and half fabulous years!
Heading anywhere that makes me a better person.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I bring my uniqueness - something no one else can bring! It's a combo of: "can do" attitude mixed with assertiveness, humour, team engagement and passion.
I'm excited to work with my new colleagues and to refine my post production skills. VFX doesn't stop evolving and I intend to evolve with it.

What bores you to death, and what ramps your adrenaline level? Cricket and slow upload speeds are the biggest snooze fest.

Also European summers. It can be nearly 10PM and still bright out. Very unreal for me.

Playing tennis and being more active in general.
BIPOC/LGTBQIA+ Films.

I've also recently read The Survivors by Jane Harper, it's a pretty solid Australian crime/mystery novel.
Music – I love my disco. Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Luther Vandross, Chic – they all pump out some timeless bops. Throw some house music in there too and I'm in heaven.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I was born and grew up in the "highly catholic" Kevelaer. So, when it's dark my halo sometimes shines :-) At the age of 24 I was ready to move on to new shores...

I was professionally drawn to the "BIG city" Düsseldorf. However, I ended up living on the other side of the Rhine, Neuss. I've been enjoying it so much ever since, that I'm still there.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I did the classic apprenticeship as a tax manager, followed by further trainings. One thing led to another and other similar tasks and skills were added to my curriculum. I can definitely say that I'm a "number artist". I'm always excited about what one can experience and do with numbers. I consider myself an organized and structured person. Furthermore, I'm always passionate about improving my work and my working environment.

What bores you to death, and what ramps your adrenaline level? I don't really know boredom. There is always something I want to do. My heart beats for nature and outdoor activities. I'm an active person, I like hiking and the whole adrenaline rush that comes with it. I feel that I find my strength out there.

What’s your current desire, and what really moves you? I would say having the freedom to meet my friends and knowing that my loved ones are safe and healthy.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? I mostly use Google in my research. Whether I have personal or job-related questions, I feel that most of the times Google can provide me with an answer or solution. Offline I meet my partner Nicolas, who is always there when I wake up. In the same time, my family is on top of the dating list.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss? I love thrillers – books in between scary and beautiful. Unfortunately, since the Covid outbreak last year, I've hardly had time for a good book. When it comes to music, I'm a child of the 1980s and 1990s. I like to sing and dance to that sound.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I was born and raised in Solingen, the city of blades. For those who are interested in details: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solingen.
After initially commuting, I moved to Düsseldorf in my mid 20s. First to Bilk, Pempelfort, then Oberkassel/Heerdt and now Grafenberg. And now I am exactly where I want to be. And that applies in every respect.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? With over 20 years of experience working on national and global brands, I do have the ability to partner strongly with clients and colleagues across different geographies and hierarchies to drive business and build brand equity.
In terms of leadership, it is particularly important to me to create framework conditions in which everyone feels comfortable and can give their best, we are successful together and grow beyond ourselves as a strong community.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
People who take themselves way too seriously vs. honesty, respect, humor.
And maybe the world's best truffle pasta.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you? It's more about experiences than material things: spending the most enjoyable time by going on vacation together with my family. I would love to bring all generations together: Grandpa and grandson, brother and sisters, etc.
What me really moves deep down in my heart? Sharing is caring. We show care and our interest in s/o by sharing. And sharing is not only limited to tangible things, we can share an intangible thing as well like any kind of idea, our learning's or may be our experiences.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? In fact, I can't or don't want to be without my phone anymore.I love that it connects me quickly with family, friends and colleagues. And whenever I need to know something quickly while on the go (which is quite often), Google helps me right away. It's also always been my home page on the computer.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
There’s just one: InstagramMyTheresaWikipediaW&VPromiflashHorizontAmazon(shameonmeforthatlastone.
And in the analog world I love to meet with my family & friends and the ‚Flaschenpost’ delivery service.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?
Either "Mit Feuerwehrmann Paul im Einsatz" or "Bagger. Traktor. Müllabfuhr. Mein großes Fahrzeugbuch.“ Together with some children's songs on the Toniebox.
And if I do have time to listen to my personal evergreens, then it can be a mixture of electro and the good old seventies Soul, R&B, Funk. Otherwise, EinsLive on the radio will also have to suffice.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? The last 4,5 years I was at DDB and worked for clients like Deichmann, Miele, Henkel, Bauhaus, Westwing and Bonne Maman. Now I'm joining Till's team for the client Christ.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I'm a very organized and balanced person. That helps me to have a great overview in stressful situations.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? I try to cook fresh food as often as I can, but in everyday life time is rare, that's why I don't want to miss my food processor to help me to cut everything I need for a colorful meal.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
First things first, every morning I'm checking the news and reading the updates at Zeit Online with a strong coffee.
As my family lives two hours away I try to visit them as often as I can, also to have quality time with my two cute nephews

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
At the moment I'm reading Good night stories for rebel Girls – 100 außergewöhnliche Frauen. It's very funny, nicely designed and inspirational.
And at the moment when I listen to the track Do it To it from Acraze I can't sit still.
Classics: Holding a good book is still nicer than a practical e-book reader, and my non e-bike is my faithful companion through the city.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
Originally from the French-German border I made my way through Weimar, New York and Paris "straight" to Berlin. So many cities left … Let’s see what the future holds ;)

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Very empathetic. Can handle stress quiet well. Really want to share my knowledge with all the talented people here – while at the same time also learn from them lots of new skills.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
I learned to enjoy boredom so I’m not afraid that anything will kill me with it.
My adrenaline spikes while seeing aesthetic things. Everything design related from fashion to furniture etc.

What's your current object of desire and what really moves you?
I think people and their stories move me. Being nice definitely is moving me.
Puhhh – pick anything from Pierre Paulin in terms of "my object(s) of desire".

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? I will have to admit that my mobile phone is indispensable. It’s just the easiest way to stay in touch with everyone that matters to me. The application that always has a solution is probably Instagram. Wanted to delete that app so often but always need it back because – besides all the self promoting that is happening there – its also a very good space to find inspiration for almost everything.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Poolsuite.net is my go to website when I need that vacation feeling and the matching tunes.
And if I’m not hanging around at the pool you will find me having day drinks with my friends or spending quality time with my girlfriend..

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?
Giving the circumstances we all have to deal with at the moment I’m finding myself being obsessed with everything written by Yuval Noah Harari. It really helps contextualizing certain patterns of behavior.
In terms of music my taste is all over the place. But if you ask me what everybody should check out at least once in their life my answer will always be: "All the old stuff from Daft Punk“.

Was ist dein aktuelles Objekt der Begierde und was bewegt dich wirklich? Was mich wirklich bewegt? Meine Heimat, meine Familie und Freunde – vieles davon spielt sich im schönen Volmerswerth am Rheinkilometer 734 ab. Hierzu ein ziemlich passendes Zitat von einem Herrn T. Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I was born in Wuppertal and I'm still living here. My Parents are from Palestine.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I'm thinking about how to write this without coming across as conceited and stuffy because I'm actually totally okay. I'm a very communicative person who likes to exchange, I often hear that I'm funny. I like to organize parties and I 'm known to be like a mother for everyone and to have everything always with me.
In addition, I love to learn new things and like to educate myself. My creativity also can not be limited.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
When I have nothing to do, and animal documentations.
When I'm given the chance and the trust to lead or do something beautiful, and during take-off and landing on a plane..

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Just the little things .I like to photograph very much, whether nature, people or small details. It's an aesthetic approach that you're developing for yourself. Everything I get in front of my lens is my desire. Because behind each image stands a story that inspires me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Key combinations and 1password.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Beside Leapsome and Asana , the amazing Gen Z pages Instagram and Snapchat.
Of course my family and friends too.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
I like thrillers , my latest read: The Package by Sebastian Fitzek.
My playlist is art, here you can find anything from newcomers to the good old OG's, and anything what your heart needs. There are no limits what music is concerned.
Sarah A.J. recommends: the German artist Reezy.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I'm from Düsseldorf, living in Berlin and headed to a bright future.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Ask Till... he hired me. ;) I appreciate my way of thinking which allows me to discover and expand various perspectives.
I would like to perfect my strengths and accept imperfections

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level? I think monologues about yourself are boring. Co-mmunication is key.
(Good) music and sports excite me.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Finding the perfect apartment in Berlin is a tough thing... If you hear something – let me know. This would really 'move' me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Gadget: Never underestimate good noise-cancelling headphones!

App: for all Berliners: Wolt. Hands down best food delivery service.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
I work in influencer marketing... Parasol pays me for checking Instagram (amongst other apps) at all times.
Offline I do not meet that many people tbh – it's January 2021. Stay home, stay safe.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
Books: Motherhood by Sheila Heti, An Apartment on Uranus by Paul B. Preciado, What's Love (or Care, Intimacy, Warmth, Affection) Got to Do with It? published by e-flux journal & Sternberg Press.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I come from a tranquil village near Paderborn called Lippstadt. After stops in the Sauerland and Ruhr region I stranded in Düsseldorf. I finished a master in photography and was working more than two years as a producer in Düsseldorf lately. My next goal is to explore the island step by step.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Intentness, self-dependance and readiness of mind. I won’t lose my organising abilities even in stressful situations. A strong coffee and black humour are my weapons against chaos taking over. Now I’m open to face new adventures – if you don't go forward, you go backwards.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level? Slow people drive me nuts. I'm almost never bored in my leisure time – and if I that would happen I’d call it luxury.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?I have no list of objects of desire. If I want something, then it is a very spontaneous decision from the heart. My list of things that I do not need is definitely longer.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?Of course my mobile – they say a phantom telephone ping is a widespread disease nowadays – so at least I’m not alone. The internet offers pretty much madness, but also most of the time a solution for everything. My laptop is another favorite gadget: With the silver bullet Photoshop I can solve almost any visual problem.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? Facebook and Instagram are probably a lot more than websites. They are the anchor point for social life, stalking instrument and deflection magnet. After the first coffe, ready fore more content, W&V, Lead Digital and Horizont are on my list. Almost forgot Amazon – what would life be without online shopping? When the batteries of mobile and laptop are empty, I go to the movies, exercise or meet friends.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss? My ebook is full of crime thrillers. Simon Beckett, Stieg Larsson, Cody McFadyen. Currently I read Sebastian Fitzeks "Noah". My playlist is as wild and colorful as my wardrobe, but especially full of Rock and Alternative. Guitars, drums and a handsome bass player - that is music. And: Everyone should see The Black Keys live.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? Born and raised near Bielefeld (it ain’t pretty, but it exists). Lived in Bremen, Japan and Munich before work took me to Berlin in 2015.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Have been called „Swiss Army Knife“ in the past ;) Working in a lot of different jobs has given me the chance to see work through different lenses and has helped me a lot to understand different projects and clients.

When I find the topics I’m passionate about, I usually dive deep!.

What bores you to death, and what ramps your adrenaline level? Boring or not is often a matter of perspective and circumstances ;)
Tea gets my juices flowing! Yes, green tea, black tea, white tea, oolong, pu-erh tea, you name it – lot’s of interesting leaves out there.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? My current object of desire is a travel to meet friends in Asia. Let’s see, when it’ll be ok to travel for reckless fun with friends.
My bike moves me through the city and beyond. Also great for aerosol safety and endorphins in global pandemic situations.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? Smartphones are pretty indispensable.

Google Maps or Bike Citizens – and hell yes (!) to Youtube tutorials..

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? My frequent websites are different search engines, twitter.com and lately medium.com
Offline I meet friends, family, fellows & furries at the animal shelter.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss? Exploring some more of Michael Crichton’s stories (Jurassic park and beyond) at the moment.
Music-wise tunes from San Fermin, Theo Katzman, Bishop Briggs, Charlene KAYE, MARINA, One Ok Rock and 1990’s rock (e.g. RHCP, Incubus) have stuck with me.
Podcasts are fun, too: /reply-all/ and Chaosradio for the brain and Dear Hank & John for fun..

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I was born and raised in Dusseldorf. Since I’ve just been stranded on the island, I’d just like to stay here.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I have a penchant for organization, planning and communication. And – who knows what the future will bring?

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level? I hate waiting! And I’m also suspicious of people who don’t understand my sarcasm. My adrenaline pumps every time my daughter does something that’s too dangerous in my eyes. And riding in a car too fast... On the positive side – music makes be really happy.

What's your current object of desire? A garden!

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? The weather app and my iPhone.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?Google. My kid, my man, my friends.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?  I love good old House Music. I read for relaxation, so I go for lighter stuff. It’s so light that I don’t remember much of it. But I wouldn’t want to miss classics like The Little Prince and Pippi Longstocking.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I come from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern near the Baltic Sea, studied in Rostock and then landed in Berlin and the agency world. I currently live in the golden middle and have now moved to the island.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? It's always good to have a plan, even if it doesn't always work perfectly.
I love structure and organization, but helpfulness, passion, commitment and empathy are also part of it for me.

What bores you to death, and what ramps your adrenaline level? I don't like waiting and when people don't get to the point or don't listen.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? It is and remains the sea – I love the endless expanse. Mountains, on the other hand, sometimes express something threatening and formidable to me. Have you ever thought about that?

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? It is best to use your mind and listen to your heart. If that does not help, there is Google where everyone can find an answer to their questions – in most cases ;)

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? Mostly Instagram, Spotify and Netflix.
Otherwise, I'm a real family person and enjoy spending time with my friends. I would also love to have a dog :)

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss? I recommend the books Das Cafe am Rande der Welt and Big Five for Life from John Strelecky – everyone can take something from it. Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I was born in the south of Düsseldorf but meanwhile I’ve made it to Unterbilk. After working as a car salesman, an account manager in a network agency and a project manager in the public sector, I now want to immerse myself completely in the digital world.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I love to learn, to organize and to see how things develop. I’m curious about any kind of innovation. I have a variety of interests and hobbies that enable me to view and evaluate things from different angles and to "think outside the box".

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level? I am bored or annoyed by any form of wasting time. People walking too slowly in front of me, senseless TV shows or the lack of punctuality in public transport (which also ramps my adrenaline level in a negative way). In a positive way: definitely the mountains. Whether it's snowboarding in winter or climbing and mountaineering in summer – there's nothing that can earth me more and inspire me at the same time. Also, my football club, which is responsible for some of the most emotional moments of my life.

What's your current object of desire?
A camper van or a camping bus (suitable for everyday use). After a trip through Norway I'm absolutely thrilled. And what moves me? Well, hopefully soon my camping bus. Otherwise my bicycle and since I live directly in the neighborhood: my legs. And if you want to know what really moves me, come over and have a chat…

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? "Unfortunately" my smartphone which I use way too often. Otherwise my new cast iron roaster. A real game changer in the kitchen. For solutions I usually ask Google or YouTube but meanwhile also the Parasol Wiki.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? Online: zeit, FAZ, rp-online for general news. t3n, OMR, WUV, Horizont etc. for marketing and digital content. 11Freunde, transfermarkt, kicker etc. for sports news. instagram for entertainment. Offline: My family that also lives all over Düsseldorf, my aunt's dog Cleo and of course my friends.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?  Sadly my reading activities are currently limited to online articles and cookbooks. My favorite classic book is "Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse but I also like stories about the great outdoors like "Into Thin Air" by J. Krakauer and stuff like that. Recommendations are welcome. When it comes to music I am quite versatile and I always love to find new tunes, but mostly I'm into the sound from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? Well, in terms of career I’m looking back on 13 years of hustling through all different kinds of agencies. Born and raised in the Münsterland, true Westphalian. Hoping to find a new home here on the Island.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Call me cross-disciplinary strategist, if you like. Or just: the dude doing this … things. Always taking the broader view and looking for inspiration. So I might fare well here, right?

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level? I’m not into administrative work. Really not. Not at all. Only the cliché combo of coffee and music makes it tolerable. But feed me with food for thought, leave me to it and things will fall in place. No kidding.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you? Cars and bikes move me. Sounds like a cheap joke – but it’s really that simple. Right now I’m wrenching on an old Jeep named Claus. Claus hates me, I guess. Always broken, never working.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?None to be honest. Thought about it for a while, seems like the indispensable doesn’t exist yet. Or maybe I’m just getting old.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? That must be stanceworks.com, a car thing again. In real life, it’s the typical family & friends situation. Like being surrounded by a bunch of favorite human beings, spending time in bars, kitchens and on concerts.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? Attack of nostalgia: read Der Abfall der Herzen, began listening to Muff Potter again, a band of my small-town youth. Try it, you’ll love it. Or hate it. One way or another, let me know, ok?

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Telephone, the one on the other end of the line.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
