I’ve always been a very visual person – first it was fashion, then photography, and eventually I landed in film. Where I’m headed? Honestly, I don’t know yet. I’ve never been someone with a big master plan; I just follow what feels right at the moment. My only real goal is to never lose the joy in what I do. That’s what drives me.

Started from the bottom, now we’re here. Just kidding - studied business psychology while working in market research and producing ethnographic videos. Then I worked as a project manager in a video production company in cologne. Having recently worked in Zurich as a sales project leader, I'm now happy and excited to join the island team.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I was born in Mönchengladbach and currently live in Willich. Now I would like to start my next journey and come to your island! My plan is to move to Düsseldorf in the course of the year.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

I'm very good at not only looking at the big picture but also at small details. Furthermore I'm a very empathic person and find it important to always communicate with each other. I would like to develop myself further at Parasol Island by being open to everything and showing my strengths as well as facing my weaknesses.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

What bores me a lot are monotonous tasks that are always repeated. I once worked at an asparagus farm and always had to peel asparagus, which was really boring. On the other hand, I love facing my fears and going beyond my limits. This year I did a skydive even though I'm terrified of heights. It was pure adrenaline - I can only recommend it!

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

To be honest, my current object of desire is a car. I'm saving up and would like to get my own car soon to be even more independent.

What really moves me? - I can only say a successful experience and thinking about new projects and then starting them.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

The smartphone is an indispensable gadget, because it allows us to stay connected and we have access to a lot of information. I especially noticed that while I was abroad in New Zealand, I always knew that I could call my family and friends.

One application I can think of that always has a solution is Google Maps which has navigation and real-time traffic updates.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

Honestly I only visit websites for the weather, for example "Regenradar" or to be updated I visit the website "Tagesschau". Offline I love to meet my friends and go out for a picnic or to play tennis, just to be active and outside.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?

I'm really enjoying the music from Coldplay at the moment. Especially the song "Viva la vida".

Classics I wouldn't want anyone to miss are "Waterloo" from ABBA and also "We are the champions" from queen.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I recently got my Bachelor's Degree at the Internationale Filmschule Cologne, and I'm trying to find work where I can pursue my passion for CG imagery while working with nice People.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop

your talents?

I think I'm a good CG artist and can quickly adapt to new environments and tasks and I’m easy to work with. I want to develop my skills by working on great projects with great colleagues.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

I get bored to death by endless feedback loops about completely irrelevant parts of a shot, especially when the deadline is near. I get an adrenaline rush when I am faced with a challenge and I figure out how to overcome it, also when I go Karting.

I frequently visit YouTube to meet my content needs. I meet my Family, Friends, and Girlfriend regularly.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would

not want anyone to miss?

But from time to time I also enjoy Rock, Phonk, and DnB.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
A place called Buxtehude (one of the 200 German cities that offer a cute old town as their unique specialty). Soon to be “Berliner” as I’m heading towards the ten year mark of calling Berlin my home. Spent the last couple of years in Content Management at Elbkind Reply, now headed towards exciting projects with you.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? A foresighted workflow, a sense for good content, tech affinity and lots of experience in automotive topics. By doing things I’ve never done before. I like the learning by doing approach supported by the exchange with experts in the respective fields.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Loading screens or any badly designed tech that is a time-waster.
Innovations that improve my everyday life so I can focus on the important things

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? Oddly specific maybe: Sichuan Chinese Cuisine. Changed my perception of how intense food can taste. Will hopefully become a master chef soon. Cooking and/or sharing great food with friends is something I don’t want to miss.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? My iPhone.
Wolt.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? YouTube. It’s the perfect mix of entertainment, education and absolute nonsense.
Offline: Friends, family and a Shiba Inu called Kitsu (I’m a dog uncle).

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss? I’m one of (probably) too many DJs in Berlin and therefore quite influenced by dance oriented music: Disco, House, Techno, Trance,... you name it.
Also very passionate about Ambient music so here is an all time classic: https://aphextwin.bandcamp.com/album/selected-ambient-works-volume-ii

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
Most recently, I worked for a media team in a consulting firm that believes in improving collaboration to empower people and organisations in new ways of working. In the future, I will support you guys in creating emotional designs and content for exciting clients.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
Communication, planning, negotiating and supporting my team in any way I can are some of my key skills. I love to grow with new colleagues, projects, clients and of course training in all disciplines.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
I'm easily bored by uninspired designs, ideas and clients who are not open to trying something new.
I'm thrilled when I can watch my team produce amazing work. And, if I have enough time, I love riding my motorbike through stunning curvy roads.
Good concerts.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
A new motorcycle, which I'll probably never be able to afford until my kids leave home. But that’s okay, because my kids are what really moves me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
My smartphone and new AI applications like Chat-GPT.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
YouTube and Instagram maybe, and offline I love to meet my best friends from Hamburg and Düsseldorf.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the classics you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
I don't read that much, but I'm hopefully going to finish Das Ende der Ehe by Emilia Roig soon.
I love bands like Rage Against the Machine, Slipknot or Bad Religion and for concentration Hauschka, Son Lux or Caribou. My classic recommendation could be the LP Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division.

boris.schepker@parasol-island.com

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I'm originally from the Ruhr area and – like most people from there – I consider myself quite well grounded.
At some point I was drawn out into the world – first to New Jersey for my last year in high school, moved on to beautiful Oregon for one semester at the university and finished my studies in Düsseldorf.
After starting my professional career in Düsseldorf I moved on to Barcelona, and for the past 16 years I have remained in Berlin.
Now that I'm finally able to work for Parasol Island, I'm happy to be back in Düsseldorf more often. To be honest, I sometimes miss the humour of the Rhinelanders in Berlin.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
The fact that I've worked in agencies as well as in film productions means that I'm quite good at mediating between all the different departments which work together on a production.
Diplomacy is one of my assets – along with my long professional experience.
In our fast-moving industry, today's knowledge can be outdated tomorrow already. I like to keep my finger on the pulse of current affairs and technological development – which is exactly what I find so exciting about Parasol Island.
People at PSL are already thinking and working in a fully digital way and I want to learn from them.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
I'm bored to death by the widespread motto: "We've always done it this way". Whereas I'm inspired by international pioneers.
Last month I was lucky again to meet some international people at the Ciclope Festival and exchange ideas. What are digital natives in Brazil launching or what IT pioneers from China are already incorporating into mobile apps – these are inspiring topics for me.
In comparison, a lot of what we in Germany see as the "hottest shit" is pretty much old-school in comparison.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
The most important "thing" for me is education; to evolve every day.
I'm currently working on my Spanish skills. This language is really a good example to the "many exceptions to the rule" – that's what makes it so much harder to master and is my daily challenge. Learning keeps the mind active. Which is a good thing.

What makes me really happy is when I can directly apply what I have just learned. My goal: Agree with a Spanish director on his treatment in Castilian, this way we can we come to a common denominator much faster.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Our Vespa Elettrica is a very important gadget in order to reach far away appointments in Berlin on time and of course in an environmentally friendly fashion. Driving a car in Berlin during rush hour – not a very good idea!
The app I currently use most is Apple Health – it helps me to be fit for those challenging projects. By the way I am still good at maintaining my 10.000 steps per day. Furthermore I like the Balloon, Headspace and Gardena Irrigation app.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Duolingo.com, lingq.com and yr.no/en (much more reliable than Apple's weather spp).
f course I check out the news on spiegel.de the same way as on bild.de to get a broad idea of what's currently happening.
Since I started at PSL I would say Google Mail and My Parasol Island 😂.
I meet my family and friends offline, who else? If I answer my cell phone too often in this "offline environment" I get told off and everyone wants to prescribe to me a digital detox immediately. Not always an easy undertaking combining the analog and digital world.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?
Männer in Kamelhaarmänteln – I like Elke Heidenreich, I wonder why? Is it because she grew up in Essen or her great grasp of the little things in life?
Who Ordered This Truckload of Dung? – helped me in many situations. It's just one of those books which can be read the way you like it: It works superficially and also if you want to go more into depth.
Musically speaking I am very, very old school: For sports I like French lounge music. During the day a nice mix of 1970s, 1980s and 1990s tunes.
I like to listen to most songs from the Great American Songbook or a nice selection of Mexican or Cuban "boleros y musica del ayer" for dinner parties or at the end of a long working day.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I come from Brazil, live in Germany and want to cook for Parasol Island in the future.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

I bring all my experience of more than 15 years as a cook and maybe in the future I can also show my skills as a photographer. I would like to develop my talents by exchanging information and experiences with the team, putting my creativity into practice.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

Monotony bores me and challenges get my adrenaline pumping.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

My current object of desire is a new coffee machine and what drives me is the desire for a better life.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

My cell phone is almost indispensable, and the app that helps me a lot is DeepL.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

I often visit Youtube. I like to spend a lot of time with my wife and meet up with my friends in the same way.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?

I love punk rock and hardcore and still listen to the same music I did 20 years ago: The Ramones are a timeless classic for me!

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? Born and bred in Rottweil, studied in the Netherlands, Bali and Thailand, former intern in London and now based in Düsseldorf. Where to next? I like getting surprised!

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Positive mindset, creative strategic thinking, organisational talent combined with an intercultural sensitivity. Working outside my comfort zone helps me develop my talents, either if that is a new city, new people or simply standing on a ladder (yes, I’m afraid of heights).

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
All-inclusive Hotels. What ramps my adrenaline level are new video uploads by Creative Director Sam Kolder and hitting the slopes in Japan.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? An E-Piano! I played the piano as a child and really missed making music during lockdown. I hope by the time I call one my own, it won’t collect dust in the basement. Talking about music; a good opera or theatre play moves me as much as a great techno-festival.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? My headphones and the app Citymapper, a public transit app. Without the app I would’ve been absolutely lost in London. It even lets you choose to avoid dimly lit areas – how great is that?!

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? YouTube. If I’m not online, I love to meet up with old friends from home, talking a bit of Swabian (local accent) and enjoying the Rottweiler Fasnet (Carneval).

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss? Podcasts such as “Gemischtes Hack” or “Fest und Flauschig”. It’s my perfect weekly dose of infotainment and helps me to switch off after a long day. A movie trilogy you don’t want to miss out is “Before Sunrise”, “Before Sunset” and “Before Midnight” directed by Richard Linklater with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. An authentic portrayal of love with each entry relishing the good, the bad, and the ugly that comes with it..

Head of People & Culture
daniela.schiwek@parasol-island.com
Sprache: German, English

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I started taping commercials on VHS when I was a teenager. Well, I always had a great passion for advertising. I got my first job at Jung von Matt in the 1990s more or less by accident, when the agency was still in its baby shoes, when we had no internet there but fax and only one layer in Photoshop. I have spent the last 4,5 years in HR at BBDO – mainly growing an international team with talents from all over the world.

Let me say it with a quote from C.S. Lewis, "Onward and Upward!"

What skills do you bring to the company, how would you want to develop your talents?
Positivity, empathy, pragmatism when needed and I even know how to run a campsite from my former job experience.

The opportunity to learn and to develop your talents further never stops. Rather, it is a journey that never ends throughout our lives. It always starts with motivation and listening!

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Too much theory, I’m a fan of hands-on mentality.
People taking themselves too seriously.
Opera!?

Skiing, a good thriller or horror movies.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
The Icon Coat by Max Mara.
People and emotions, society change.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
The iphone, of course. And a blanket and a pillow.
Google and Netflix.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Unspectacular, probably some fashion shopping sites – I love clothes!

Anyone I can meet offline!

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
Karsten Dusse's Achtsam morden – and just started his sequel Das Kind in mir will achtsam morden.
German Hip Hop, Miley Cyrus, Robin Schulz, Greta van Fleet and Kate Bush. Classics from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Amy Winehouse and Boney M.

Client Service Director & Executive Director
dennis.eichner@parasol-island.com
Sprache: German, English
Stadt: Düsseldorf
Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

Born & raised on the left side of the river Rhine in that beautiful village Düsseldorf I started my career in advertising at GREY where I stayed for almost 14 incredible years. From apprentice to Group Head producer I made all steps through the TV department. The last 10 years I spent at a production house called Laterna Magica as an Executive Producer where I ran the Düsseldorfer office.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

With more than 2 decades of experience both on the agency and production side and numerous shoots and productions I served multiple creatives and clients and led production teams of all sizes. As a TV & Film producer, I learned that there is always a (good) solution for any problem and always an answer to any question.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

I think I'm a very balanced person with no or little peaks in both directions - thanks to my wife who is a part-time yoga teacher. Breathe in, breathe out. If there is one thing that drives my adrenaline level these days... with a tennis addicted daughter experiencing a tight set in one of her matches, this is definitely a booster for my blood pressure.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

Center Court tickets for a day at the Australian Open in the beginning of the year would really be something out of this world.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

The questions to be answered are so varied that a single app would not suffice. But armed with a MacBook and a smartphone, I know how to find solutions to most of the issues I'm facing. Definitely one thing I learned being a producer.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

A bit of this, a bit of that... news, gossip, updates... whatever comes my way and feels interesting will get my attention. My offline pack consists of my wife, my daughter and our little Jack Russel dog Murphy. Those are the people I meet the most offline. But I love to enjoy a good glass of wine in good company.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?

Spending weekends over weekends in clubs of the late 90's/early 00's and even ending up DJ-ing there, the music that shaped me was any kind of electronic. Although my musical horizon was always much wider, I still find myself returning to the beats and vibes from that time for every occasion... joyriding, taking the dog out for a walk, work-out... If I would be asked for my personal best three albums ever written, it would be DAFT PUNK's "Homework", THE STREETS' "Original Pirate Material" & RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE debut album.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
I get bored by myself when I forget stuff around, gossip and narcissists complete the picture. What gives me adrenaline? Playing with my kids at the Spielplatz.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
My current object of desire is one of my wife's cakes, I am on a diet at the moment, no sugar allowed :(

What really moves me is the incredible journey of watching my children grow and develop. There's something profoundly moving about witnessing a human being evolve from scratch, it's a daily reminder of the beauty of life and the endless potential within each of us.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Tools! I love tools like wood working tools, power tools, screws and bolts. I fix stuff everyday thanks to my tools, I could not live without them.

Of course, Google always helps me to better use my tools (or to buy new ones).

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Youtube. Almost only Youtube. I bombard myself with tutorials just to have the excuse to buy new tools.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
I do not listen to music a lot, when I do it's for the music and nothing else. Background music doesn't make me think. When I want to listen to something, it usually belongs to the Pop-Rock-Indie area from the 70's to the 90's. I'm too old for Trap, R&B, Despacito and autotune.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

Hi, my name is Duncan Büsch. I was born in Düsseldorf, but my parents decided to move to the small town of Jüchen, where I have been living for the past 20 years.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

I would say that the most important skills I have are my ambition and my empathy. My goal is to take these skills to a new level through Parasol. I would like to develop them further by having the opportunity to work in areas where I learn many new skills, but also where I encounter honor and compassion.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level? There's not that much, but I get bored of unnecessary lectures on things that are self-explanatory. There is a simple solution to the question of how I get my adrenaline pumping: Basketball. Every important game I had back then got my adrenaline pumping and my heart pounding. I can say that I enjoy competition and overcoming challenges.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? At the moment I don't really have a specific object of desire. It's more of a status that I would like to achieve at some point. My biggest motivation is my son Lian and I want to be able to guarantee a good standard of living for him and my family.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? Probably the coolest gadget I own is my computer. I can use it to relax and play a game with my friends in the evening, but I can also work quickly on projects. ChatGPT is probably the application I come back to when I really don't know what to do. Or if I'm unhappy with some of the things I write, I use ChatGPT to see how it might be better.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? The last website I visited was YouTube to watch Urs Kalecinski's training video. Most of the time, I'm busy with my son. When I meet up with friends I meet up with people I've known almost all my life.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss? I actually listen to all kinds of music, depending on my mood. From Kendrick Lamar to Adele. A real classic sound that will always be in my playlists is "Set fire to the rain".

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I come from the dark side of Germany and I made it "rüber". And who knows - maybe someday I'll return there as a self-made man.

What skills do you bring to the company, how would you want to develop your talents?

I bring a rather creative eye with me. Otherwise I always try to be friendly and sincere. I believe these skills need constant work. I expect the same from the talents in my team. Professional skills are important. How we treat each other is even more important.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?

I have a thick skin. I don't get bored easily. If a big fish is on the line, I get excited.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

Family and home

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

My hands and my eyers are my most important gadgets. Without Youtube DIY tutorials, I'd be lost.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

I try to stay away from screens in my free time, which I fail at miserably. Offline, I meet up with friends. Naturally.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?

Currently, I listen to more podcasts than music. Mostly about science. I really enjoy "Geschichten aus der Geschichte" and I also like entertainment like "Baywatch Berlin". The list of my classics is too long to be listed here.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I was born in Mostowskoi, Russia, and moved to Germany when I was about three years old. I grew up in a (no longer so small) village called Ibbenbüren, in NRW. After finishing school, I wanted to study something that would allow me to create and be creative, so I chose architecture and moved to Bochum. After completing my studies, I worked as an architect for about four years before moving to Düsseldorf.

After two years of full-time work, I realized I needed more space for art and creativity. I started my master's at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in the Baukunst Klasse. During this time, I was already deeply involved in photography, starting with analog film, which remains my ultimate guilty pleasure. Over time, this evolved into freelance work across various fields and for different clients.

Last September, I had what I’d call a pre-midlife crisis. I realized I wanted to fully embrace the creative field and leave the construction industry behind. Things started falling into place—some friends told me about the P-Island, and now I’m here! I’m excited and looking forward to working with amazing people, learning, and growing.

I also plan to take the opportunity to move to Berlin and join the office there at some point on this journey.

If you’ve read this entire text up to here—congrats, you’re now a certified Player 1! 🎮

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I love diving into new experiences, contributing my creative eye, and pushing ideas forward. That’s exactly what I want to continue developing.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Wasting my time ("Deutsche Bahn – harte Hassliebe und Menschen, die Animes in GerDub schauen"). I love the idea of seeing my life as a movie, which often leads to adrenaline-pumping situations. *ups

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
No object can give you a better understanding of me—but people speaking passionately and sharing their experiences, that’s something that truly moves me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Empathy. Empathy.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
love Tumblr (underrated and forgotten)—Stars & Sternchen of my life.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
At the moment I’m not reading a book, but I’m listening to a lot of music (always). Recommendations (if not already known): MAC MILLER, Tyler the Creator, Kaytranada, FKA Twigs, Masego, Rosalia, Brent Faiyaz, Kendrick Lamar, MCR-T*

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
Positivity, perseverance and calmness. I would like to develop my talents by taking on tasks that challenge me first and foremost.

Monotony bores me to death, traveling ramps up my adrenaline.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Striving for a good balance in life (between work, learning and enjoyment).

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Shea butter (a must-have for my daily routine) and my calendar app always keeps me organized.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
I frequently browse Pinterest and check the Weather App.

Offline, I spend time with my friends and family.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
At the moment I'm enjoying music with a Larry June vibe as well as tracks by Tems and a lot of 2000s hits. As for classics that I think everyone should hear, they include "The boy is mine" by Brandy & Monica and "Remember the time" by Michael Jackson.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I'm originally from the north of France, I grew up in a small village called Cuffies, which is like one hour north from Paris. I also lived in Lille for a long time before moving to Berlin five years ago. As for my future, it remains a perpetual question mark, but I'm certain of how I aspire to be: endlessly curious and open-minded.
A home at a sunny place with ocean view would be a life goal for me.

What skills would you bring to the company, how would you want to develop your talents?
I bring my tech skills to the team, focusing mainly on frontend tasks for client projects. Beyond that, I've got experience in project management and website maintenance and will take care of various tech tasks. My background includes a shift from IT sales and recruiting to becoming a software developer, with nearly two years at a Berlin startup where I managed the website and mobile app with a team. My goal is to keep exploring the latest frameworks and methods in web development, so I can offer great advice on tech projects and, of course, make my code look slick and stylish.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Bores me to death: Big shopping malls. .
Ramps my adrenaline level: Playing music in front of a crowd. I play from time to time in Berlin clubs and I really enjoy it. I also love to go to the stadium to watch football or basketball, always fun.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you? Current object of desire: Expanding my collection of records and setting up a home studio. I started music production with my younger brother last year, and we hope to release some tracks this year, blending elements of house, techno, and hip-hop. In the long run, I dream of establishing my own record label.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Stack Overflow and GitHub are like two bibles giving constant coding solutions – I had to mention it. Another indispensable gadget: the Shazam app.

What website do you visit frequently, whom do you meet offline?
Discogs or Bandcamp to look for new music.
I meet my friends a lot, when you live abroad they become like a second family. With some I have long and deep conversations at the bar, with others I go to exhibitions, and with some others I do some sports, this is how I find my balance!

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?
Book: Kallocain is a dystopian novel where a chemist's creation of a truth serum exposes the inner thoughts and emotions of citizens in a totalitarian society, sparking resistance against the oppressive regime.
Music: I'm currently revisiting the works of my favorite French rapper, Alpha Wann. Additionally, I'm always enjoying an old school rap and R&B playlist that lasts 24 hours.
Selecting just one classic is a tough task, so here is a compilation of influential house music tracks that have left a mark on me. Cast Of Thousands: The Sun Will Shine (Victor Simonelli Club RMX), Underground Resistance: Hard Life, Ron Trent & Chez Damier: Teach Me, Keep Me, Laurent Garnier: The Man With The Red Face, Joel Mull: Close 2 You, Rachmad Project: Summer Breeze.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

I'm comfortable with the chaos of a set and finding quick solutions through my experience in filming documentaries. I'd love to develop my project management skills and learn more about the creative side of media.

I get bored when everything is too predictable and stuck in routine. But when every day brings something new to tackle, it gives me an adrenaline kick and keeps me motivated!

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

Right now, I'm working on finding my own voice. What moves me is connecting with others - whether through a good story or a shared experience.

I grew up in the flattest flatland, in Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony). After a few stops here and there I finally ended up in Berlin..

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Ignorance and arrogance! Slow internet and bad radio reception. Adrenalin ramping in a positive way: Good concerts, animal videos, Capri Sonne and parachute jumping....

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Maybe one day, perhaps, a Leica camera. And, of course, a mini-horse named Li'l Sebastian (Parks and Recreation fans know). Until then my beloved old bike I purchased at the local flee-market.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Google and my gut feeling.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss?
After 17 years I once again excavated Stephen King's It, my read for the coming weeks. The new records from Arcade Fire and Manchester Orchestra. And – for topical reasons – Kettcar's Summer 89 (if they can do something, it’s lyrics).

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I’ve always been a very visual person – first it was fashion, then photography, and eventually I landed in film. Where I’m headed? Honestly, I don’t know yet. I’ve never been someone with a big master plan; I just follow what feels right at the moment. My only real goal is to never lose the joy in what I do. That’s what drives me.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop

your talents?

A good eye for aesthetics I would say but when something really sparks my interest, I tend to dive in deep and don’t let go. Right now, that “something” is film – and I’m fascinated by almost every part of it. That’s why I’m excited to be part of a company setup for the first time and get to know the ins and outs of production from within. It’s a welcome shift from being the freelancer who gets booked at the very end of the chain.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

When things stay the same for too long – that’s when I start yawning.

Adrenaline kicks in when I’m at a new Dirtpark with my bike, staring down a jump for the first time, trying to guess whether I’ve got enough speed – or if I’m about to eat dirt.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

Definitely a proper espresso machine – that’s the dream. But it’s not the caffeine that keeps me going. It’s the fun. If I enjoy something, that’s all the motivation I need.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

My noise-cancelling headphones, no doubt. Whether it's a screaming toddler on the train or Sabble Sabine in the coworking space – they’ve saved me more than once.

And when it comes to solutions: ChatGPT is often faster than asking your parents.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

YouTube is constantly open on my screen. I don’t think there’s any site I spend more time on.

As a freelancer over the past three years, I had plenty of time for coffee dates with friends. That’s about to change – which is why I really need that espresso machine at home.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would

not want anyone to miss?

My music taste changes with the day. One minute it’s Ed Sheeran, the next it’s hard techno, and when I’m reading, I go for cinematic scores – 2WEI is a favorite.

But lyrically? The songs by Schmyt are top-tier for me. Definitely modern classics in my book.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I'm from Germany and live in Cologne. I love living in my hometown so unfortunately I take the Deutsche Bahn or car to work in Düsseldorf and to study in Krefeld.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

I'm currently studying Communication Design and focusing on UX Design and Branding. I'm a creative person and like to forget about time when I'm working on exciting projects. I am very good at communication and love sharing projects and ideas with others. I think the results are getting better and better at doing that. Apart from English and a bit of French, my hidden talent is to understand/speak Kölsch. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, like probably many others, and often bite my way through difficult issues until I've found a solution.

I want to be able to apply the things I learned at university and learn new skills. I want to see what it looks like in the real world of work and try out creative approaches to come up with innovative solutions. And most of all, I want to support a great team with new ideas and learn a new perspective.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

Going jogging and going to the gym bores me to death. I'm more of a team sport person.

I like the height. I love roller coaster rides and collect free fall towers in different parks. I've had Disneyland, Moviepark, Phantasialand and Kirmes (Fairs?). But skydiving would be too scary for me.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

Currently I want a nice green couch for my new bigger room. My sister has moved out and I get her room. Watch Out, it’s getting a little esoteric. I believe in various spiritual things. I like Buddhist wisdom, meditations and believe in signs that I encounter in everyday life. In many moments it gives me confidence and trust in my path to move on.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

To work, as sad as it sounds, my iPhone and my Macbook have become indispensable. I love working with Apple and having all my stuff in sync. Most of the time I use the Notes app because I can write down my thoughts and to-do lists so quickly. It allows me to get everything sorted and come up with my solutions. Privately, my favourite gadget is my lavender-scented Otter heating pad and my favourite app is Google Maps. I have a really good orientation but nothing would work without it.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

In fact, it's chat gpt at the moment. Especially for the university and research for concepts, it helps me a lot. Offline, I often spend time with my family, friends and my boyfriend. Otherwise, I meet a lot of strangers on the train and have conversations you wouldn't expect. A woman once told me that her husband was cheating on her and she was now stalking him via GPS tracker on his car and some software on his phone. What would you answer?!

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?

At the moment I mostly listen to Coldplay and Jeremias music.Coldplay's Fix You is my favourite classic. Other classics for me are some Queen songs, like Killer Queen or

Radio Gaga, because I grew up with them. I would definitely recommend just watching Bohemian Rhapsody, it was a special movie.

Senior 3D Artist
Kay.Poprawe@parasol-island.com
Language: German, English
City: Düsseldorf
Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
Born in Marl, I grew up in idyllic Dorsten. I turned my hobby into my profession. During my professional career as a 2D, 3D and visual artist, I moved to Schleswig-Holstein for several years and then to Lower Saxony for a few more years. I spent 20+ years freelancing in all these areas and worked on countless projects, which eventually brought me back home to the Ruhr area.

After several years as a freelancer, including Parasol Island, I have now been a "permanent" part of this company for several years and hope that this will continue for even longer. Because I've already had enough changes of scenery ;)
What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
Industrial Light and Magic! Everything you can create with small pixels, 3D objects, textures, light, materials and image composition.

What's the best way to develop your talents? Through the projects, of course, preferably the ones that challenge you. Even though I've had plenty of them in my 30+ years in the games-, animation feature- and advertising-industry, there's always a project that challenges you in a new way. Even if it's just debugging errors in the tools you deal with on a daily basis. Because even this is a talent that needs to develop.

What bores you to death, and what ramps your adrenaline level?

Doing nothing is something I find very difficult and simply bores me to death. Anyone who knows me knows that when the project comes to an end, I'm already calling for the next one.

Doing new things, especially things I've never done before in my field of work. Fortunately, there are always new tools that want to be explored and used. And yes, even after several years, being back on a skateboard and teaching your own children this adrenaline-charged sport. These are definitely a few things that still get my adrenaline pumping.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

My Retro Collection, my renewed activity in the demoscene and Pixel Art. Oh, that was three cravings, but let's sum it up. One piece, a collective work of things I grew up with as a teenager.

My family.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

My Smartphone and Google.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

Facebook, Youtube, Google, Discord, Slack, clever-tanken.de, WhatsApp, Playstation Store, Steam, Pinterest.

Offline life? That must be an old forgotten relic ;) If so, it's probably my family and friends.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?

I listen to quite a lot, but it always depends on the mood I want to put myself in or the mood I'm in at the time. In general, though, it's metal, punk, alternative, rap (80s), drum & bass and movie soundtracks.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? TI am from Hamburg. For studying, I went to Bremerhaven because they had a really creative and practical degree. After going from Hamburg to a smaller city I knew, it's only going up from here.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Beside my skills in photoshop, illustrator, logic and so on, I bring my interest for everything creative. Design, print or moving images, I really want to learn everything creative, to create something unique.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?
Numbers really bore me. Hot food kills me every time, but I never stop trying.

What's your current object of desire and what really moves you? I am trying to get back into skating but it's never easy in winter.
Also, I try to keep my plants alive. They are doing okay – but they took some damage while moving and winter is coming.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution? I never go outside without my AirPods. Especially with the long train rides in Berlin they are a must-have.
If I have a question no one I know can answer, there is always Google or Reddit.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
It has to be YouTube. Where else can you listen to music made by mushrooms and learn how to build a pool in the jungle.
In real life I try to meet my friends as often as possible.

What books are you enjoying at the moment?
The last time is held a book in my hands was on my vacation. It is called GRM and didn’t really fit the beach vibes, but I am confident I'll finish it on a dark winter day. My favorite classic has to be Perfume.

I guess I am fun - let's find out together lol

ChatGPT always has an answer - a real savior when you need food for thought.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

Guilty - it's my TikTok FY-page. But I swear I have a funny algorithm.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would not want anyone to miss?

I could write a thesis about Beyoncé's impact in the music industry, so I guess you know my answer. But I am also a big 60's 70's fan and Kendrick is always part of my Spotify-wrapped.

All time favorite song is for sure Vienna by Billy Joel. As you see, there is a good mix and match.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
Born in Düsseldorf, I moved to Munich for a couple of years and found out that feature film was not my thing. I came back to Düsseldorf to step into advertising and now I'm here to stay.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
It all started when I wanted to film & post my own wakeboard videos and be a sports photographer. Did that and a couple of other things to find out that there are people who are way better artists than I am, but I might be doing a good job in overseeing and managing projects with those basic skills I learned by doing stuff by myself. Besides that I guess I am always on the positive side of things and I am able to stay calm also in stressful situations (on the outside).

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Adrenaline: I love running, wakeboarding, sports and flying my drone behind wakeboarders without collision detection.

Boring: Watching other people doing sports.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
I got a new lens for my camera, which was an object of desire for a long time, so now I am looking for the next one. Probably a gravel bike? What moves me: my family (including our cats and dog).

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
Talking about technology, I love experimenting with ChatGPT. But to be honest, my wife always has a solution and the best advice.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

Website: Shotgrid and OS/ ;)

Offline: I have the best neighborhood I could think of and we spend a lot of time together. My parents.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
Too many different things on my playlist to name just one. But right now, on the top of my playlist: "Wanna Come Down" by Ibibio Sound Machine. Classics: Now and then, I get back to listening to Prince (no, not that "Kiss" song but if you are interested, you might want to listen to "Pop Life").

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I come from the Russian taiga and I'm headed to the island and it's adventures.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
My skill set contains a detail oriented workflow, together with the ability to process information quickly and implement it in my work. I want to develop my skills to a point where I'm able to shape a story visually as I want it to and understand it's storytelling within.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
It bores me to death to stay in my comfort zone and it ramps up my adrenaline level to be late for something.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
The only thing I'm currently thinking about is to have a cat someday, and that is because I'm really happy with everything I've got :). I love to take photos and videos, on my phone or on my camera. But the best part is reminiscing all these moments that have happened - and I've been able to capture them. A moment forever. This is what moves me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
An airfryer is indispensable, you want some Pizza? Put it in the airfryer. You want some salmon? Put it in the airfryer. Do you want the best Tiefkühl mozzarella sticks? Put it in the damn airfryer. Another indispensable gadget: Headphones with noise cancelling. I can't live without it. How did I manage life before that? And YouTube is the application which solves all of my problems. There is a tutorial for anything that you could think of.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?
Wikipedia is the website that I use frequently to look up random things.

My search history contains:

  • Lakritz
  • Radiocarbon
  • Bohnanza
  • Bielefeld-Verschwörung
  • All I want for Christmas is you

Offline I love to meet my friends which are all from different age groups and backgrounds. My social life is just as wide as my personality.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
I enjoy a lot of different music, but mostly it’s electronic and 00s trash music.

My Classics:

Come into my life - Joyce sims

You could be more as you are - Saâda Bonaire

25 years - The Catch

Otherwise - Morcheeba

Us against the world - Jungle

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
One could say that I'm extremely relaxed and almost never lose my composure. Additionally, I strive to have a holistic perspective and consider things from various angles and positions. According to my girlfriend, I'm quite adept at mental calculations.

Lectures on the advantages and disadvantages of statutory health insurance versus private health insurance.
Water parks and therefore water slides.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Definitely a dog, preferably a Corgi or wire-haired Dachshund.

Airpods and Chat GPT.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

whosampled.com and reviersport.
Friends and people I can run and hang out with.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
Books: Not quite sure yet if I truly enjoy it, but atm I read Die Macht der Geographie.
Music: Currently, I'm listening to the new Arlo Parks album, but I'm sure this fact will be outdated by the time you read this, and I also listen to a lot of Soulection Radio. There's so much you shouldn't miss out on, but the earlier SoundCloud peak (Soulection influenced) and a good portion of disco and Motown tracks are definitely part of it.

The adhd in me doesn't allow me to be bored. Always pick up on something and take the interest from there. Adrenaline I get from riding single speed/fixed gear and getting tattooed.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
I uptraded all my kids' legos for a nice little gasgrill – been adding on to it and failing in good bbq for a good two months now. Also, spend most weekends in my kitchen doing random pickles and sourdoughs.

Adelaide, South Australia (the other side of the world). Germany, and more specifically, Berlin, has been home to me for just over 2 years and I have no plans on leaving just yet.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
My can-do attitude and eagerness to learn new skills got me in the door. Now I believe I bring somewhat of a positivity to the projects I am involved in and I get the job done. Work-wise I'm getting better with my leadership and time management, but I'd like to improve my eye for detail (patience).

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Exciting: When the light go out at a concert and the crowd roars as the show begins + last minute winners by the sports teams I follow

Boring: Budgets.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
I've been working as a freelancer for some years now, offered integrative art projects for immigrant children, co-founded an association, and I ran a restaurant for two years. I love variety and getting involved in new topics. And now? The Island. Looking forward to working with new people, new challenges and experiences.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? I pack my bag and take with me: Empathy, humor and finding solutions. Through my freelance work I have a hands-on mentality and am always curious to learn new things. Therefore I'm broad-based but want to find my design focus, move more into art direction in the future and of course learn the agency language to be able to communicate with the locals on the island.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
Having to do the same thing over and over again with no room for innovation.
My last rad adrenaline rush was a ride at a fair (I love fairs, but rides are not my thing)..

I was born in Wuppertal and I'm still living here. My Parents are from Palestine.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I'm thinking about how to write this without coming across as conceited and stuffy because I'm actually totally okay. I'm a very communicative person who likes to exchange, I often hear that I'm funny. I like to organize parties and I 'm known to be like a mother for everyone and to have everything always with me.
In addition, I love to learn new things and like to educate myself. My creativity also can not be limited.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?
When I have nothing to do, and animal documentations.
When I'm given the chance and the trust to lead or do something beautiful, and during take-off and landing on a plane..

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Just the little things .I like to photograph very much, whether nature, people or small details. It's an aesthetic approach that you're developing for yourself. Everything I get in front of my lens is my desire. Because behind each image stands a story that inspires me.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? I come from a tranquil village near Paderborn called Lippstadt. After stops in the Sauerland and Ruhr region I stranded in Düsseldorf. I finished a master in photography and was working more than two years as a producer in Düsseldorf lately. My next goal is to explore the island step by step.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Intentness, self-dependance and readiness of mind. I won’t lose my organising abilities even in stressful situations. A strong coffee and black humour are my weapons against chaos taking over. Now I’m open to face new adventures – if you don't go forward, you go backwards.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level? Slow people drive me nuts. I'm almost never bored in my leisure time – and if I that would happen I’d call it luxury.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?I have no list of objects of desire. If I want something, then it is a very spontaneous decision from the heart. My list of things that I do not need is definitely longer.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?Of course my mobile – they say a phantom telephone ping is a widespread disease nowadays – so at least I’m not alone. The internet offers pretty much madness, but also most of the time a solution for everything. My laptop is another favorite gadget: With the silver bullet Photoshop I can solve almost any visual problem.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? Facebook and Instagram are probably a lot more than websites. They are the anchor point for social life, stalking instrument and deflection magnet. After the first coffe, ready fore more content, W&V, Lead Digital and Horizont are on my list. Almost forgot Amazon – what would life be without online shopping? When the batteries of mobile and laptop are empty, I go to the movies, exercise or meet friends.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? What are the works you wouldn’t want anyone to miss? My ebook is full of crime thrillers. Simon Beckett, Stieg Larsson, Cody McFadyen. Currently I read Sebastian Fitzeks "Noah". My playlist is as wild and colorful as my wardrobe, but especially full of Rock and Alternative. Guitars, drums and a handsome bass player - that is music. And: Everyone should see The Black Keys live.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?

I come from the town of Schwelm near Wuppertal, lived in Frankfurt for quite a while, and I think I’d like to live in a big city again someday.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop

your talents?

I’ve worked in the games industry for a long time, and visualizing 3D real-time assets is one of my strengths. I enjoy both the artistic and the technical aspects of this field. I’d love to keep learning—also beyond 3D—especially about procedural workflows, pipelines, and learning from others.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

Seeing the same thing over and over again really bores me. I’m fascinated when things come together in a way that seemed unlikely at first—that’s the kind of fusion that excites me.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

I find 3D printing super exciting because it allows me to design something completely from start to finish. I’ve been eyeing a few resin printers and hope to make that dream come true sometime soon.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

I love my headphones because they allow me to disconnect and tune out the world, wherever I am. My favorite app right now is definitely ChatGPT.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

My go-to website is YouTube. I listen to music there, learn new workflows, and connect with others. In real life, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends the most.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would

not want anyone to miss?

When I’m working, I love listening to old Super Nintendo soundtracks—there are countless all-time favorites. Besides that, I’m a big fan of skate punk and metal.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?Born in Düsseldorf, I was transitioning from an unsuccessful attempt at studying computer science to becoming the nerdiest media designer out there.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?

While video editing is my daily bread and butter, I love to learn new skills across the entire post-production process. From motion design to sound design, compositing to color grading, I'm definitely no expert (yet), but I aspire to master all of them one day. There is just one exception: I hate the Z-axis, so I am not into 3D programs.

What bores you to death, and what ramps your adrenaline level?

Ironically, I hate writing text. I take too much time to be structured enough so my counterpart will understand what I wanted to say. But learning new skills, automating everything and editing with exciting music definitely get my heart racing in an unhealthy way.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

I think my main desire is to be happy and have fun, and do this with friends an colleagues.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

Definitely my trusty headphones. Whether editing on train rides, collecting new music or just switching off my brain - with these bad boys I'm always settled. For all videos, I always know that my friend DaVinci Resolve has the solution.

What websites do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

Youtube, Instagram and Reddit. But i desperately try to reduce my time on those... I am very lucky that my childhood friend group is still very intact. So we meet regularly and also go on beautiful trips.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?

I am ADDICTED to the music from Kiltro. Try out "Errasuriz" and "Mi Capitán".

Now, I'm heading to Parasol, where I want to focus more on creation, campaigns, and my big passion for storytelling and moving images.

What skills would you bring to the company? How would you want to develop

your talents?

I love diving deep into brand cultures, flipping perspectives, and crafting messages with emotion, relevance, and impact. I'm a creative wild child, constantly drawing inspiration from multidisciplinary fields, always curious, always alert. My greatest strengths? A sharp instinct and my let’s-make-shit-happen attitude.

What bores you to death and what ramps up your adrenaline level?

Overthinking and endless uncertainties bore me to death. Passion, determination, and spontaneity in the face of the unexpected get my adrenaline pumping.

What’s your current object of desire, and what really moves you?

Drinking my first coffee in the morning from a hand-crafted mug made by my daughter. Fresh flowers—an absolute must in our home. I have a soft heart and a deep sensitivity to my surroundings—often, it's the smallest gestures and moments that move me the most and could make me burst in tears -literally!

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?

A homemade inhaler stick with cinnamon and eucalyptus—crafted by my husband for that little dopamine kick. TikTok and ChatGPT are at the moment my go-to search engines for just about everything.

Various Interior design platforms—we're currently planning on building a room within a room. Offline? As much as possible—I love meeting friends and enjoying life beyond the screen.

What music are you enjoying at the moment? What are classics you would

not want anyone to miss?

Currently loving Kiefer, Ivy Lab, and Snoh Aalegra—always good vibes, always soothing. My all-time classics range from 70s Punk to 90s Hip-Hop to 2000s R’n’B, plus timeless Jazz Legends from the 50s,60s and 70s.

Where do you come from, and where are you headed? Well, in terms of career I’m looking back on 13 years of hustling through all different kinds of agencies. Born and raised in the Münsterland, true Westphalian. Hoping to find a new home here on the Island.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents? Call me cross-disciplinary strategist, if you like. Or just: the dude doing this … things. Always taking the broader view and looking for inspiration. So I might fare well here, right?

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level? I’m not into administrative work. Really not. Not at all. Only the cliché combo of coffee and music makes it tolerable. But feed me with food for thought, leave me to it and things will fall in place. No kidding.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you? Cars and bikes move me. Sounds like a cheap joke – but it’s really that simple. Right now I’m wrenching on an old Jeep named Claus. Claus hates me, I guess. Always broken, never working.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?None to be honest. Thought about it for a while, seems like the indispensable doesn’t exist yet. Or maybe I’m just getting old.

Which website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline? That must be stanceworks.com, a car thing again. In real life, it’s the typical family & friends situation. Like being surrounded by a bunch of favorite human beings, spending time in bars, kitchens and on concerts.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment? Attack of nostalgia: read Der Abfall der Herzen, began listening to Muff Potter again, a band of my small-town youth. Try it, you’ll love it. Or hate it. One way or another, let me know, ok?

Where do you come from, and where are you headed?
From the great town Quadrath-Ichendorf (I don’t think an English name exists). But it’s a real town, look it up.
I’m heading to the kitchen now, maybe client next, Cannes hopefully soon :) and one day heaven, I hope.
I mean the sky is the limit.

What skills do you bring to the company? How would you want to develop your talents?
I have a media, strategy and of course creative background. Thus, I hope to bring some disruptive thinking, good times and great creative stuff to the table. I definitely need to develop my barista skills and apart from that I hope to deepen my creative knowledge here and learn some new tricks along the way.

What bores you to death and what ramps your adrenaline level?

I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, but keeping track of my working hours is one of the most boring tasks.

What's your current object of desire, and what really moves you?
Nothing in particular, since I have the problem of buying random and unnecessary stuff too often. But currently I’m watching a lot of photography stuff, which makes me want to switch up my gear, even if I don’t have to.

What gadget is indispensable and which application always has a solution?
I think my phone, though I really want to spend less time with it.
Besides that, a pen and paper are indispensable tools that I don’t want to miss.

What website do you visit frequently? Whom do you meet offline?

I spend a lot of time on Instagram and sometimes even find myself wasting too much time on TikTok. Offline I spend time with family and friends and on Sundays you’ll find me at the church.

What books and music are you enjoying at the moment?
Shoe Dog by Phil Knight is a book that really inspired me.
The Alchemist is rightfully a classic and I think the Bible is underrated for life lessons.
For music it is vintage Kanye and Mac Ayres for some mellow tunes.
