Sichere Passwörter müssen nach einem Zufallsprinzip generiert werden (Hier der Link zu einem Generator), es dürfen keine trivialen Kombinationen erstellt werden und darüber hinaus darf ein bereits verwendetes Passwort nicht wiederverwendet werden. Passwörter dürfen nicht an unbefugte Dritte weitergegeben werden und müssen nach den folgenden Anforderungen generiert werden:
Eine mindestens 13-stellige Kombination aus mindestens 3 der folgenden 4 Kriterien:
Großbuchstaben
Kleinbuchstaben
Ziffern
Sonderzeichen
Passwords should

- Be 100% totally unrelated to you personally (no pet names, favourite teams etc.)
- Be at the very least, be at least 10 characters in length (the longer, the better)
- Contain at least two special characters (non-alphanumeric)
- For example: !@#$%^&*()-
Good passwords contain:
- Both uppercase and lowercase characters
- Numbers
- Non-alphanumerical characters (e.g. !@#$%^&*()?)
- Be at least 10 characters in length
Super passwords contain:
- Words from at least two different languages (e.g. German + English or English + Spanish)
- At least 16 characters
- Numbers that are not at the end of the password
Examples of secure passwords that you should be aiming for:
- MyFirst!Dortmund!MatchInTheYellowWallWasIn2001MitMeinemVaterMichael
- 1564#LoveAllTrustAFewDoWrongToNone!1616 (Shakespeare's year of birth + # + famous quote + ! + year of death)

As you only tend to log into LastPass once per day, it's not a bad thing if it takes you a few seconds longer than normal to type in your password.
