New page

== What is Mailgun? ==
Mailgun is an email delivery service for sending, receiving, and tracking emails.

== Where to find the credentials ==
Each team member will have their own credentials, the parent account’s credentials are stored on 1password https://start.1password.com/open/i?a=HMMAXSRMWVE7FDFVUJ34APZMUE&v=tvojkgypgns2icapcsdt4lcp54&i=o4erbwhjzfbn3jzmjvjdw3swhm&h=parasolisland.1password.eu

== Account creation ==
Only Administrators or the parent account can create new accounts via invitation, that can be done on the “Account” > “Account security”.
URL: https://app.mailgun.com/app/account/security

== Sending > Domain Settings ==
Is where most of the configurations can be performed.

== Domain Settings -> General ==
Allows configuring the “Message retention” time (default 3 days), “Inbound spam filter” and to create a “DKIM authority”.
==
Domain Settings > Security ==
Allows setting the TLS connection type and Certificate verification

== Domain Settings > Tracking ==
For the tracking to be activated a CNAME needs to be configured on the DNS.
Allows setting up “Click tracking”, “Open tracking”, “Unsubscribes” and “Tracking protocol”.
==
Domain Settings > SMTP Credentials ==
“Sending” > “Domain Settings” > ( select box at the top to Select the “Domain”) >”SMTP credentials”
The SMTP account’s credentials are only revealed during the creation, please ensure you save them on 1password with the adequate description and details.

==
API Keys ==
Global Keys can be accessed under “Account” > “Account Security” > “API Security”, the keys can be revealed and regenerated.

Individual Keys ( per domain ). Can be configured under “Sending”-> “Domain Settings” ( select box at the top to Select the “Domain”) > “Sending API keys”.
Just like the SMTP Accounts the keys can not be revealed, please ensure the API Key is saved on 1password and properly filled. If the key is lost a new key entry has to be generated ( reset is not possible).

== Logs: ==
Currently with our subscription package the logs are retained for 5 days. Can be accessed on the “Sending” > “Logs”, on the top of the page there’s a select box where you can select/switch the domain.

== Webhooks: ==
The service supports webhooks, can be accessed on “Sending” -> “Webhooks”. Wehools allow us to configure custom actions based on the supported events such as “clicks”, “Delivered messages”, “Spam Complaints”, “Unsubscribes”.

== Wordpress Plugin - Mailgun ==
When configuring the plugin, the API Key method is preferred.
If the SMTP account method is selected, please ensure that the E-mail address is under the same domain as the “Mailgun Domain Name”.

At the end of the for a test e-mail can be sent, the destination is locked to the Wordpress Installations E-mail.
